Hand pulled block prints
Plates are carved in linoleum and rolled with ink. Glue is applied to the underside of colored papers, which are placed, carefully, glue side up on the plate. special printmaking paper is placed over the plate and the whole sandwich is run through a press.The pressure transfers the ink to the printing paper and at the same the colored paper is adhered. While the choice of colored papers that are added to the piece can make a big change in the appearance of the print the underlying inked impression remains the same. I usually do between 6 and 12 prints in an edition. A bit of watercolor may add the finishing touches.
The size is of the actual image. Paper borders extend another 1″ to 2″ inches.
